When buying comforters or comforter sets, many choices are available. Some comforters come with a few complimentary items such as a bedskirt and a couple of pillow shams. Others may come with a large ensemble of items to compliment the basic comforter set. In some case a few bundled packages may be available with an increasing number of pillows and types of pillows and sheet sets.
What is your preference? When shopping for comforters and comforter sets, do you prefer a simple package with options that you can mix and match with? In other words, build your own ensemble. There is a wide variation of how frequently people clean their bedding. Most people wash or dry clean their comforter sets every two to three weeks. This is fine unless you are allergic to dust mites.
We shed skin cells at all times and at night we shed these in our beds. Unfortunately this serves as food for dust mites. If you have allergies to dust mites, then it makes sense to keep the skins cells in your bed to a minimum. So you will want to clean your comforter set more frequently.
If you have a down comforter then having machine washable duvet covers for it lets you more easily clean your bedding while being able to add variety to the look of your bedroom at the same time. In this case the down comforter can be cleaned a lot less frequently.
